About
Humphrey's Story
Humphrey is our 1930's Gundle Butchers Bike that we snapped up from Mama at Mama's Shack and had it shipped down from Newcastle. Having done some research on this bike the Leonard Gundle Motor Co Ltd of Hockley, Birmingham, created the Model "T" as part of its range of carrier bicycles pre-WW2 and it would've been used to deliver essential goods to customers pre, during and post WW2. The last known use of Humphrey was as a promotional tool for a cafe in Newcastle outside of their premises.
A New Family
Why a butchers bike? Well on a family holiday in 2016 we were introduced to the little known dessert Affogato and instantly fell in love with the combination of fresh espresso coffee over ice cream. As a result we thought of a way we could offer this to our customers and so the idea was born to give Bertie a friend and re-purpose a British classic, the Gundle Model "T". Humphrey has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration with no expense sparred to ensure he meets the high standard we set for our fleet and is available to hire alongside Bertie to give your function that added wow factor.
